Electrolux Refrigerator and Freezer Repair
We repair Electrolux French-door refrigerators, matching all-refrigerator and all-freezer columns, and Electrolux freezers. Electrolux is the upscale sibling of Frigidaire in the US, so many cooling parts are shared, while touch controls and trim are more brand-specific and can take longer to source.

FridgeRepair.pro is an independent repair service operated by Appliance Repair Pros. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Electrolux or Electrolux Group. The Electrolux name and logo identify the equipment we repair.

Worldwide, Electrolux is one of the largest appliance makers there is; in the US, its own name is the smaller, premium half of a family dominated by Frigidaire. That puts Electrolux refrigerator and freezer repair in an interesting spot. Core components benefit from Frigidaire’s deep parts supply, while the touch controls, trim and some interior parts are less common and sometimes slower to get.
Electrolux in the US market
Electrolux is a Swedish company headquartered in Stockholm. It bought the parent of Frigidaire in the 1980s, and in North America it sells refrigeration under both names. Frigidaire is the volume brand. Electrolux is the upscale label, with a narrower lineup, fewer retailers and higher prices.
That narrower footprint is worth knowing about before you buy, and before you repair. We see far fewer Electrolux refrigerators than Frigidaires, and some Electrolux-specific parts, particularly control boards and cosmetic pieces, may need to be ordered rather than pulled from local stock.
The Electrolux refrigeration lineup
French-door refrigerators
Electrolux French-door models emphasize touch controls, bright interior lighting and flexible storage, including temperature-adjustable drawers on some models. Mechanically, they share a lot with upper-line Frigidaire French-door models. Ice is made in the fresh-food door on many units, with all the seal and airflow sensitivity that design brings.
All-refrigerator and all-freezer columns
Electrolux sells single-purpose columns: a full-height refrigerator with no freezer, and a full-height frost-free freezer with no fresh-food section. Installed side by side they look like a built-in pair. Each is a separate appliance with its own sealed system and controls, and the freezer column usually contains the ice maker. Our built-in refrigerator repair page explains how we approach units that are fitted into cabinetry.
How Electrolux units fail
- Ice maker problems: slow fill, frozen fill tubes or ice jams, particularly in door-mounted compartments.
- Touch control faults: unresponsive or flickering displays, sometimes from a failed board, sometimes from a connection through the door hinge.
- Frost in the freezer column: a door that isn’t sealing, or a defrost failure. See our freezer repair page.
- Fresh-food section warming: evaporator fan, damper or defrost issues.
- Water leaks: water valve, supply line or a blocked drain.
Practical service notes
Because so much engineering is shared with Frigidaire, core repairs (fans, valves, defrost parts, many ice makers) are typically straightforward. Expect more lead time for control panels, door trim and brand-specific bins and shelves. If you’re deciding between repairing an older Electrolux and replacing it, ask us about part availability before the visit; we’ll tell you upfront if a key component is hard to get.
Finding the model and serial number
On Electrolux French-door refrigerators the label is usually inside the fresh-food compartment on an upper side wall. On columns, look on an interior side wall near the top. Photograph the label, and if your unit has shown an alert on its display, note what it says.
Electrolux appliances we service
Electrolux refrigerator repair
Electrolux refrigerators in the US are mainly French-door models with touch controls and premium interior lighting and storage. They are engineered alongside Frigidaire's higher-end lines and share many mechanical parts.
Electrolux freezer repair
Electrolux all-freezer columns are frost-free upright freezers designed to pair with a matching all-refrigerator column. Most include an ice maker, which is a common source of service calls.
Electrolux built-in refrigerators
Electrolux column pairs are designed to install side by side for a built-in look. Their installation affects access, but the cooling hardware is closely related to Frigidaire's column models. About built-in refrigerator repair

Electrolux repair FAQ
Are Electrolux and Frigidaire refrigerators the same?
They come from the same company. Electrolux Group owns Frigidaire and sells the Electrolux brand in the US as its premium line. Many cooling components, ice makers and fans are shared or closely related between Electrolux and the upper Frigidaire lines. Electrolux models differ in controls, interior design and finishes, and those brand-specific parts are the ones most likely to take extra time to arrive.
My Electrolux all-freezer column is frosting up inside. What's going on?
A frost-free column shouldn't build visible frost on the walls or food. Frost usually means warm, humid air is getting in through a door gasket that isn't sealing or a door that isn't closing fully, or that the defrost system has stopped clearing the evaporator. Check that the door swings shut on its own and the gasket is clean and intact, then call us if frost keeps returning.
Was my Electrolux ice maker part of a recall?
Recalls apply only to specific model and serial ranges, so the reliable way to know is to look up your full model and serial number on recalls.gov or the CPSC website, or with Electrolux directly. If your unit is covered, the manufacturer handles the remedy; if it isn't, we can diagnose the ice maker.
