What we do

FridgeRepair.pro handles refrigerator and freezer repair at your home in Greater Seattle, along with built-in refrigerators, ice makers and wine coolers. We are the refrigeration service line of Appliance Repair Pros, an independent appliance repair company, so cold appliances are all we do. Homeowners, landlords and property managers call us when a refrigerator is warm, a freezer is frosting over, the ice has stopped, or a built-in is making a noise it never used to make.

How a visit works

  1. You call or send the form. Tell us the appliance, what it is doing and where you are. We book a time window.
  2. The technician diagnoses at your home. That means measuring real temperatures, listening to fans and the compressor, checking the frost pattern on the evaporator when needed, and testing electrical parts with a meter.
  3. You get a written quote. We explain what failed and why, and what the repair involves. Nothing is done until you approve it.
  4. We repair it. If the part is on hand, the repair often happens the same visit. If it has to be ordered, we book a return trip when it arrives. Either way, we clean up before we leave.

Why refrigeration needs its own specialists

Refrigerators look simple from the outside, but they fail in ways other appliances do not. Three things set this work apart.

The sealed system. The compressor, condenser, evaporator and refrigerant lines form a closed circuit. Opening it means recovering refrigerant, brazing, pulling a deep vacuum and recharging by weight. Refrigerant handling is regulated, so on our team that work goes only to EPA Section 608-certified technicians, with dedicated recovery, vacuum and brazing equipment.

Defrost and airflow. Many “not cooling” calls are not cooling failures at all. A dead defrost heater lets frost smother the evaporator, or a stalled fan stops cold air from reaching the fresh-food side. Someone who reads the frost pattern correctly fixes it with a heater or a fan motor. Someone who doesn’t may recommend a far bigger repair than you need.

Food is at stake. A broken oven is an inconvenience. A failed freezer puts hundreds of meals on a timer. We keep that in mind when we schedule, and we will tell you on the phone how to protect what is inside while you wait.

When to call someone else first

Sometimes we are not the right first call, and we would rather tell you up front.

  • Your appliance is under the manufacturer’s warranty. Contact the manufacturer first. Warranty repairs are handled through their own service network, and an outside repair can complicate a claim. We are not a warranty provider.
  • You have a home warranty or extended service plan. Call the plan provider, since most assign their own contractors.
  • The model is under a safety recall. Check the manufacturer’s site or the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Recall repairs come from the manufacturer at no charge.
  • It is brand new and not cold yet. A newly installed refrigerator can take up to 24 hours to reach temperature. Give it a day before calling.
  • Nothing has power. Check the breaker and any GFCI outlet before booking a visit. A tripped GFCI in a garage is a common reason a freezer goes quiet.

If none of those apply, call us or send the form below and tell us what you are seeing.

Frequently asked questions

What appliances does FridgeRepair.pro repair?

We repair cold appliances only: standard refrigerators of every style, built-in refrigerators including columns and undercounter units, upright and chest freezers, refrigerator ice makers and standalone ice machines, and wine coolers. Keeping to these lets our technicians know the systems well, from defrost circuits and fan controls to sealed-system work. For ovens, washers or dishwashers, you will need a different service.

How much does a repair visit cost?

The diagnostic visit is $149. The technician tests the appliance, finds the fault, and gives you a written quote for the repair. If you go ahead, the $149 is credited toward the repair, so you are not paying for the diagnosis twice. If you decide not to repair, the diagnostic fee is all you pay.

Can you come out today?

Often, especially if you call early in the day, though we cannot promise it. Our phone lines are open Monday through Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM. When you call, have the appliance's brand and model number ready if you can, along with a short description of what it is doing, so the technician arrives prepared.

Do you work on my brand?

We work on all the major brands sold in the US, from mainstream refrigerators to premium built-ins. We are an independent company and are not affiliated with or authorized by any manufacturer, which means we are free to service any of them. If your model is unusual, give us the model number and we will check parts availability before booking.

Do you use original manufacturer parts?

We install OEM parts, the same parts the manufacturer specifies for your model. They fit as designed and carry the manufacturer's parts warranty. When a part has been superseded by a revised version, we install the current replacement the manufacturer lists. If a part has been discontinued altogether, we will tell you before you commit to the repair.
