Our technicians provide refrigerator repair in Kirkland for standard and built-in refrigerators, freezers, ice makers and wine coolers. The city runs from lakefront condos downtown to older houses on Finn Hill and new apartments at Totem Lake, and each comes with its own logistics.

Lakefront condos in Moss Bay and Lakeview

Downtown and along Lake Washington Boulevard, many people live in low- and mid-rise condo buildings rather than towers. Those buildings usually have an HOA, a parking garage under the building and a few rules for contractors. Before the visit, find out:

  • which entrance and elevator service people should use,
  • whether there are quiet hours or restricted days for work,
  • and whether the HOA needs any paperwork from contractors before the visit.

Condo kitchens here often pair a counter-depth or built-in refrigerator with an undercounter wine cooler. Both tend to sit in tight cabinetry with limited ventilation, so dust on the condenser causes more trouble than it would on a freestanding unit with open air around it.

Our damp winters also expose weak door gaskets quickly. If you’re seeing frost on the back wall of the freezer or beads of water along the door edges, a gasket that no longer seals is a likely cause, and it’s one of the simpler repairs we make.

Finn Hill, Juanita and Kingsgate

These neighborhoods joined Kirkland in 2011, and a lot of the housing there is older: split-levels and ramblers, many from the 1960s and ’70s, most updated at least once. The refrigerator in the kitchen is often the second or third one to stand in that spot.

Garages and daylight basements in these homes usually hold a second fridge or a freezer as well. Those older units are often worth repairing for common faults like a failed defrost part or fan. When one isn’t, you’ll hear that before any money goes into parts.

Totem Lake and the newer apartments

Totem Lake’s redevelopment has brought a large number of new apartments and mixed-use buildings. If you rent there, building maintenance may want to handle the call first. If you own a condo or the management company asks us to come, the visit works like any other building visit, with the same check on parking and entry.

Refrigerator repair calls we see most in Kirkland

  • Frost buildup and condensation from a worn or misaligned door gasket
  • A squealing or rattling fan, most often the evaporator fan behind the freezer’s back panel
  • Ice makers that stop, leak or make hollow cubes
  • Undercounter wine coolers that drift warm in summer

The refrigerator repair page explains how we diagnose each of these, and undercounter units have their own page on wine cooler repair.

What we repair in Kirkland

How a repair visit works

  1. Call or send a request

We reply within one business hour. We ask what the appliance is doing, the brand and, if handy, the model number from the label inside the door.

  2. Diagnosis in your home

A technician tests the system and finds the actual fault. The visit is $149.

  3. Written quote first

You get the price before any work starts. Go ahead and the $149 is credited toward the repair.

  4. Repair with OEM parts

Common parts are often on the truck. If one has to be ordered, we book the return visit when it arrives. Parts and labor are covered by our warranty.

Repair service in Kirkland: FAQ

My Moss Bay condo only has garage parking. Where will the technician park?

Tell us how your building handles it. Some downtown Kirkland buildings have a visitor stall or two in the garage, and the manager or HOA can tell you whether contractors may use them. Street parking near the waterfront is often time-limited, which works for a short visit but not a long one. If you can buzz us into the garage, that's usually easiest.

My refrigerator is leaking. Where is the water coming from?

The usual culprits are a clogged defrost drain, a cracked drain pan underneath, or a leak at the water line feeding the ice maker. A drain clogged with ice tends to leave water under the crisper drawers as well. Wipe it up, note where the water seems to appear first, and mention it when you call. Turn off the water supply to the fridge if the leak is steady.

Do you work in Finn Hill, Juanita and Kingsgate?

We do, along with Rose Hill, Bridle Trails, Norkirk, Lakeview and Totem Lake. The northern neighborhoods sit closer to Bothell than to downtown Kirkland, so they often fit onto a north-end route with Bothell visits, which can help when you're trying to get an earlier appointment.
