## Who we are

FridgeRepair.pro is the refrigeration service line of Appliance Repair Pros, an independent appliance repair company serving Greater Seattle. Appliance Repair Pros provides the technicians, sets the standards and stands behind the work. FridgeRepair.pro is where we focus that work on one family of appliances: refrigerators, built-in refrigerators, freezers, ice makers and wine coolers.

We set it up as a separate line because people looking for help with a warm refrigerator or a dead freezer have a specific, often urgent problem. They want someone who knows that kind of appliance well, not a general handyman who also does refrigerators.

## Why we focus on cold appliances

Refrigeration repair rewards depth. The same symptom, a warm fresh-food section, can come from a fan, a damper, a defrost heater, a sensor, a control board or a refrigerant leak. Telling them apart quickly comes from seeing the same systems again and again, reading frost patterns, and knowing how each design behaves when one part starts to fail.

It also takes specific tools and training. Sealed-system work needs refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps with accurate gauges, brazing gear and leak detection. Modern refrigerators add variable-speed compressors, inverter boards and networks of sensors that need a meter and a wiring diagram, not a guess. Our technicians are trained in refrigeration, electronic controls and sealed-system work, and that is where they spend their days.

## How we work

These are the standards we hold ourselves to on every visit.

**We’re licensed, trained and insured.** Appliance Repair Pros is a licensed and insured company, and our technicians are trained in refrigeration, electronic controls and sealed-system work. If your building or HOA needs proof of insurance before a visit, tell us when you book.

**We diagnose before we quote.** We will tell you on the phone what a symptom commonly points to, but we do not quote a repair until a technician has tested the appliance. A price given without testing is a guess, and guesses tend to grow.

**Every quote is in writing.** Before any work starts, you get a written quote that describes the fault and the repair. You decide whether to go ahead. Nothing is replaced on the strength of a hunch.

**We use OEM parts.** We install original manufacturer parts, which fit as designed and carry the manufacturer’s parts warranty.

**We explain the fault.** You should understand what failed and why. Where we can, we show you the old part and point out what went wrong with it. If something you can do will help prevent a repeat, such as cleaning a condenser or keeping a vent clear, we tell you.

**We clean up.** Floors get protected, panels are handled carefully, old parts leave with us unless you want them, and the area is left the way we found it.

**We tell you when repair is not worth it.** Some appliances are past the point where repair makes financial sense. When that is the case, we say so, and the diagnosis you paid for gives you a clear picture to plan a replacement around.

## What independent means for you

Being independent shapes the service in a few concrete ways.

- **We work on all brands.** We are not tied to a manufacturer, so we service mainstream refrigerators and premium built-ins alike, and our advice about repair or replacement is not shaped by any brand’s interests.
- **We are not a warranty provider.** If your appliance is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the manufacturer handles that repair through its own service network. Contact them first. If you have a home warranty or extended plan, call the plan provider first as well.
- **Our work is warrantied.** Every completed repair includes a parts and labor warranty, and the exact terms are printed on your service invoice so you know what is covered.

## How we write our guides

The repair guides on this site are written and reviewed by the FridgeRepair.pro service team, drawing on the faults our technicians diagnose in real homes. They stick to checks that are safe for a homeowner, such as cleaning a condenser, testing a door seal or resetting a breaker. Anything involving refrigerant, live voltage or the sealed system is left to a technician. When a point depends on regulations or food safety, we cite official sources such as the EPA and the FDA. We update a guide when a procedure or a model line changes. If you spot an error, send a correction to [service@fridgerepair.pro](mailto:service@fridgerepair.pro).

## Where we work

We serve 24 cities across Greater Seattle, from Seattle and the Eastside down through Federal Way, Tacoma and Gig Harbor to Olympia. If you are not sure we reach your address, call and ask.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is FridgeRepair.pro affiliated with any appliance manufacturer?

We are not. FridgeRepair.pro and Appliance Repair Pros are independent and are not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by any appliance brand. That lets us work on every brand, but it also means we do not perform manufacturer warranty repairs. If your appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, contact the manufacturer first.

### Who actually comes to my home?

A technician from Appliance Repair Pros, the company behind FridgeRepair.pro. Our technicians are trained in refrigeration, electronic controls and sealed-system work. The same person who diagnoses the appliance explains the fault, writes up the quote and, in most cases, carries out the repair, so you are not passed between a salesperson and an installer.

### Can your technicians work on refrigerant and compressors?

They can. Sealed-system and refrigerant work is done by our EPA Section 608-certified technicians, with proper recovery equipment. Refrigerant handling is regulated, and we apply the same practice to every refrigerant, including the R-600a in many newer refrigerators. That covers leak repair, compressor replacement, filter-drier replacement, evacuation and recharging. Before we take on a sealed-system repair, we will talk with you honestly about whether it is worth it on your appliance.

## What it costs to start

The in-home diagnostic is **$149**. If you go ahead with the repair, that amount is credited toward it. You get a written quote before any work begins, and every completed repair carries a parts and labor warranty.
